Gas mileage 1 Year, 7 Months ago
On average how many miles do you all get per tank. I run v&h longshots with a rejetted carb on my 06 (1700), and I'm lucky to get more than 160-170. Does that sound about right? My friend says I should be able to hit 200

Well your doing pretty good. My 06 is pretty much stock but I get around 50 mpg on longer trips but just running around town some where
around 35 to 40 mpg. Depends on my throttle hand.

Is that what you get when the light comes on? If so that is good mileage for the stock re-jetted carb. You should get my mileage I have a 45 HSR and it really sucks it down.

Even if I could go more than 150 miles, I wouldn't, unsafe to do so, I fatigue easier than a lot of folks do, and, as a genreal rule, ya only average a little more than 50 miles in any given hour anyway, and, 3 hours is a long scoot for me and I need my coffee....OK, Beer breaks along the way, I think your 170 mile range is great

I have an 03 with V&H Longshots and Hypercharger Pro. At 160 the low fuel light comes on, at 170 it quits on the main. One time I took a gallon can with me and went to 204 on the reserve; at that point I came to a gas station and gave up. Went ahead and filled up. So, yes it will go 200 miles but I certainly don't make a habit of it!

160-170 is good. You're probably getting 42 to 45 mpg at that rate. I typically get the very same. I've got a V&H 2 into 1 Pro-Pipe and MrC's universal K&N filter, and of course, it's rejetted.

I also swapped a 31 tooth front pulley and a Speedo-Healer that's got it dead on for mph.

The Dyna 3000 keeps me from hittin' the rev limiter, now that the limit is 5k rpm.

It runs so sweet! I'm in love!!!
