Chiefriceburner, there are alot of post about gas mileage and many say this depends on the person. The mods of aftermarket pipes and bak helped my gas mileage. I have a 08 road* and getting between 160 and 170 miles depending how much gas I cram into the gas tank. Most of my riding is between 65 and 70 miles per hour with a occasional heavy twist on the trottle in long straight aways ....Steve.

It depends on Rider and type of riding I do better on Back Roads (45-55mph) than I do at Hwy speeds 70+ but that sounds like good Mileage to Me as well.

the other day we had a sedate 100kph ride and got just over 20k's per litre two up, however it's not always that good, normal would be about17k's per litre,I like it better when it uses more fuel

Re:Gas mileage 1 Year, 7 Months ago
You have to figure out your MPG. It will vary on the type of riding you are doing for each tank of gas and how much you used. If you went 160-170 miles on 5gal (assuming you filled up when you hit reserve) of gas and it was HWY cruising your mileage is terrible. That is only 34 MPG. If it was all city riding and heavy on the throttle light to light then it is OK. If you are not getting somewhere in the 40's MPG at HWY cruising something needs to be looked at with your jetting.

Re:Gas mileage 1 Year, 7 Months ago
i get 42-44 mpg on both bikes and we dont ride on the highway..the roads are all turns and hills here as well..anything under 40 mpg should be looked at..1st thing would be a k&n filter..the stock filters are crap.. pms adjustment, jetting..and use seafoam..and tire pressure as well..really important..
