I don't dress for the crash, I want maximum enjoyment from each ride as any one could be my last! I love the wind in my face-no windscreen and usually no helmet. KICKIN-IT OLD SKOOL!! Wearing a helmet to move your bike across a parking lot? I wanna party with you Cowboy! KICKIN-IT OLD SKOOL? I'll pass on the head trauma thank you. Six weeks in a coma once is enough for me, and that was with a helmet. To each his own. What is the creed of the wild ones? Live fast die young and leave a good corpse? Well this one is way past the good corpse bit. And you have never had a near incident in a parking lot? You must really be blessed, or just lucky as hell. I hope your good luck never runs out.

I'm lucky to be alive on my bike with the wind in my face! And everytime I ride I welcome the end. What better way to go than doing what you love? Dying in a bed,in pain, with no control of my bodily functions-NOPE, Not for me!

Geez you sound like a Klingon! Today is a good day to die! What ever you want to do is fine by me. I'll never get on your case for not wearing a helmet, your head, your trip. For six weeks while I was in a coma I felt no pain. The morphine and phenobarnitol saw to that. I survived and recovered mostly and I thank the Big Boss for every day I get. When my time comes I will face it with no fear or regrets. I have a living will made out that no heroic procedures are to be performed.

Yeah......I waived at a HD rider this morning as I sat at a left turn signal and he sat behind me slightly to my right side waiting to make a right turn, and did this " bad ass looking vato " on a RK with stretched bags , custom fender and paint even acknowledge I existed, hell no ! And again, when he pulled up to me before the turn I looked over at him and it was as if I wasn't there ! I got butt hurt ( ya right ) ! Figured the " bad ass " was better than me cause I wore my helmet and naturally he wasn't ( bet he doesn't own one ) or mine was a more reliable machine than his and cost less, or he just looked more " biker " than I did Either way, " I " looked at at him as a fellow rider and apparently he didn't see it that way. I always wave at any rider I cross with and most do acknowledge, even HD riders ! Just the way I was raised, am, and always will be

I wave at everyone-helmet,no helmet,Metric Cruiser,Harley,Sportbike and I ride with a diverse group of individuals and bikes. When I'm on my R*,you can ride a $50K decked out custom,a $30K Screaming Eagle HD,an Italian Thoroughbread Sportbike-it doesn't matter,I'm completely content!I wore a helmet through 30 years of great miles, now I choose not to. I guess I get defensive because the constant lectures are tiring-I'm just trying to live the best quality I can. Had a woman on the back of a Harley bagger ask me if I had a death-wish by not wearing a helmet. I had to bite my tongue from mentioning the extra 75 lbs she was carrying or the fact that cholesterol will most likely get her before my lack of helmet I'
