"Financial rape" parts N.L.A.? 4 Years, 11 Months ago

I was wantin' to get a dual touring seat for my bike (wife's sore butt)
Yamaha dealer says the dual touring seat with studs is $600, ...okay.
BUT the drivers backrest for that seat is almost $500 BY ITSELF!

Upon further investigation, the dual seat is available, but the $500 removeable backrest is no longer Available from Yamaha...
They probably didn't sell many due to the ******* high price!!!
Well anyways I'm checking out the #3R12201 "Ultimate" seat package, it looks good.
Ultimate is half the price of a Yami seat, and probably about the best seat package ypou can get for both rider and passenger comfort?

What does everyone think of Ultimate seats?

Yep took a DEEP plunge. Tried adding memory foam to my stock seat ended up sanding my thumb. Didn't like the way it felt still could feel some of the hard foam in the back. So went whole hog and got the 3 piece set with silver stitching and BlackIce on the back of the drivers seat. Figured wife and I had better be comfortable. I'm gonna be riding it to the new job Tuesday so what the heck.

Planet42: I recently joined PGR, and am interested in mounting 2 6"x9" flags to the back of my R* - maybe off the license plate. Does anyone have any suggestions on what mounts are good and where I can get them?
