bent front end 1 Year, 6 Months ago
It appears that something in my front end is bent. It is not visible noticeable but it can be felt. I have bough a new triple tree for the bike. I am also searching for the front forks. So the question is, should i simply replace the triple tree and see if that fixes it or should i still try and buy forks?

One last stupid question I see lots of fork assemblies for the V-star. I cant imagine they would work or would they?

Dragoon, have you put the bike on a jack, set the front tire almost on the floor, and then ried rotating it? I thought I had a set of bent forks or worn out steering head bearings, ended up being an out of round tire. Way out of round...

I did have the bike tested. It is clear that when you have the front wheel dead straight that the handlebars are slightly off. With this in mind, i needed new trippletrees anyway so will get them shortly. I also have a lead on some forks but they are way to high a price for me. I will PM hardone2get and see what he has.

Thanks all.

Dragoon tear your front end down check the fork tubes on a flat surface. I used my wifes 4'x7' 5/8 glass table to check mine. Roll the tubes ans watch for distance change along the length of them to the table top. Also the top of the tree can be twisted in relation to the bottom tree. That is no big deal because the top nuts are all that hold it in place. There is very little chance the lower tree or the stem that goes up is bent because the are very heavy metal. Take a speed square and check the stem for straightness. My bet is once you re-assemble all of it carefully you will find there is nothing wrong with it. At the most the bushings in the top tree may be screwed up. I bought a set of Baron's good n tight bushing but didn't need them when I reassembled mine.
