wiring diagram 2 Years, 6 Months ago  
i'm in the process of making a r* bobber. moving the key switch and am now wondering which wires go where on a aftermarket switch. the switch i now have has 3 terminals. r* has 4. any help will be appreciated.

stock, red wire comes off battery positive, when key is turned on this shorts to brown/blue which gives power to fuses. the other 2 wires blue/yellow blue/black short together to complete the loop for all the safety switches and such

the switch i have: 1 lug, 2 lugs with a connecter bar.
do i wire the 3 remaining together?

well.....wired red to batt., brown to ign., other two to 3rd terminal.
started with 1st switch position, turned to 2nd position and it died and will not get any power..dead.
any suggestions where to locate short.
fuses look good.

dead ..when i turn the key, i hear and feel a clicking in the starter relay. help...

did ya check the 30amp fuse? it's located on the starter relay, one is the fuse, the other is just a spare. if it started in the first position, then why go to 2nd position?

I went through this nightmare...buy a lot of 30 amp fuses and if ya really f-it up you will be buying a diode (under side cover and its costs about 50 bucks).

As I remember it Erbman has it right. I went with a 2 position switch and still use my push button. My key switch is down low on the right side cover. You can see it here:
