Got the saddle on my 05 R* done during summer. Can tell improvement but now I wish I had gone with the gel/foam makeover. Also should have been more clear on my riding position. That's all my fault tho, they did a first rate job on the saddle.

CJ, I was considering the "Double Decker" mod, which one did you have done? I revamped my Mustang Saddle myself and am pretty happy with it, I just want a comfortable back-up, I spoke in length to Allen at Mean Street about my injuries, surgeries, aches and pains, etc...he also thought the double decker mod would be the way to go.

Mine was the Double Decker. I would go for the impact gel or the next mod up the line, but I am 250+ lbs. so the Double D might work fine for you. They do good work.

Jona,
I just got mine back today- they did a great job. I had them do the "Extreme Modification" and recover the seat with new black vinyl. The previous owner bunged op the side of it somehow and I hated to put the old cover back on. Now it looks great and sits about 1 1/2" lower (as far as I can tell)- just what I wanted. The material looks like a good quality, the seat is not as hard, and the stitching is perfect. Nothing fancy stitched in because I cover it with sheepskin when I ride anyway. I couldn't get on the road with it today and tomorrow we expect snow- so I'm eager for a dry day to really test it out!

I had the DD done by them and for the first few hundred miles it seemed ok but then it seemed to loose it's shape and I felt like I was sitting down on the pan. I bought another seat off ebay and did my own with a gel/memory foam kit and like it much better. It got me the 1300 miles to Sturgis with no problems.

MCC did mine about a year ago. I am 40 minutes from their shop, dropped it off and picked it up the next day. they put memory/gel on mine and dropped seat 1". I am pleased with it, now I sit down in the seat and I noticed it made the bike easier to ride.
