Cold Starts 1 Year, 5 Months ago

I'm not a vet when it comes to this, I can rebuild an engine, do major repairs, but there's a science when it comes to this stuff, and I don't know what it is. How the hell do you get your bike started when it's so cold out? I'm carbourated, I know that doesn't help. On a warm day, even sitting for weeks or a month, fires right up, not even always choked. On a cold day, it's rough. On a sub-freezing day, no go, no matter what I do. Can someone help?

starting fluid is rough on a motor, not to mention a slight pop and your filter is on fire , but I gota ask what in the world are ya doing riding in sub-freezing temps. I would think thiers some kind or so way to pre-heat the motor like the old tractor motor heaters, something you would plug in and leave on over nite. just my 2 cents

My snow blower has a 4-stroke motor with a carb and it never fails and I pull a rope to fire that thing .
Ya will need a good battery in near top shape to insure lot'sa juice for a crisp spark.
So far my R* hasn't failed I ran it the other day for awhile, FULL choke let the pump top off the bowls then 4 full cranks of the throttle for a blessing from the accelerator pump and hit the button,, But don't touch the throttle or choke for a good minute or so .
Do not build a small fire under the engine no matter what .

I live in Ohio present temp 12.I just fired it up a min ago.No problem, keep a small heater set on low near your bike.Keeps the entire garage temp around 35-40.Also before starting turn on your key and wait 30-60 sec for the battery to start flowing juice.Turn key off, wait a sec, turn key on,hit starter switch.Works all winter.
