400 miles on plugs 1 Year, 5 Months ago
I know this is a bad pic but these are two of the plugs out of my bike after 400 miles. Left is the rear cyl.(other rear looks just like it). right is the front cyl.( other front looked just like it also). What the hell is causing this.. the rears fouled out, had to limp it home. I did put a small treatment of ring free in it, and the bottle does say it will foul plugs after a shock. But I didnt think it would do this But even without the ring free my plugs get like this pretty quick. Will switching to the iridium plugs do better??? Any comments from people who run them would be appreciated.

Looks like your running rich. The ring free would have fouled all the plugs
i believe.Have you made any modifications to the bike?

If you're sure you are getting good juice to the rear plugs I would guess an air leak.

jetted about a month ago.. seems to be running great.. 37 pilot, 175 main, pms 2 turns out. needle on 4th clip from top. No mods, just the pipes and removed the AIS. musky, where would an air leak be that would only affect the rear?

Leak at the manifold / rear cylinder.

37 pilot, 175 main, pms 2 turns out. needle
on 4th clip from top. No mods, just the pipes and removed the AIS.

Stock airbox? Try going back to a 35 pilot. Which main. Mik or Dyna?

BR, you prefer 37 pilot over 35? Most of riding takes place on the pilot and needle circuits. Air leaks could be around the manifold to head area. But in my years of dealing with airleaks, they typically lean out a cylinder, not richen it up, as it pulls more air in than needed. So you could have a leak on the front cylinder, not the back. Just a couple thoughts.BB

BR, that's fairly lean on the main, but how is your needle set up? Same as Stock? Washer/clip/spacer/washer?

I'm guessing you still have the 35 pilot? If you do put it back in and see.
