Erbman put a V-star clutch spring on his ,He'll jump in I'm sure. But from the way he described it it was not hard to do.

See there's always some one here who knows what their doing. I stand corrected and apoligize for having a brain fart on the clutch spring.

My '01 has just startted doing it after 51,000 flawless miles. I'm doing the Barnett upgrade based on trusted advice here on the clinic.

Yup, I added the Virago1100 spring piggy back, about 75k miles ago, am at 125k now with stock friction plates as well. Since I had no garage at the time, I opted to let a dealer wrench do it, in fact it was his suggestion since he did it to a couple of other Roadies.

Think the Virago1100 was produced between 97 to 2000 or somewhere around there, was not in production for too long

I just did the Barnett conversion about two months ago. I to had done a few mods to change horse power and also changed my stock front pulley to a pully with fewer teeth. I left the factory pressure plates when I did the conversion hoping that they were ok. I am happy to say they were fine. I am very pleased with the results. This was my first experience with a motorcycle clutch and it only took me 2 hrs useing the included instructions and the tech article here on the clinic.

I went w/the Warrior spring in my '00 a couple yrs ago. It's doing the job well & doesn't cost as much as the Barnett.

i did the barnett spring to mine about a week and ahalf ago got the part from from no-pork it took about 45 min. it is easy if you can change the oil and spark plugs you can change the spring plate.there is a paper gasket.
drain the oil it is a wet clutch take the shifter and floor board off then remove the cable and spring then the cover clean off the old gasket remove the 6 10mm bolts holding the stock spring kit on pull out then take 1 at a time remove the fiction plates out wipe them dowm and take 80-1000 grit sand paper to lightly skuff them a bit. re-install the plates in the order you removed them then the new spring kit the paper gasket the covers the cable and spring shifter and floor board and then add the oil
