Riser bolt size 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Does anyone know the riser bolt (or stud) size on an 07 1700 Silverado?
Not the wrench size but the bolt diameter. I may need to get an adapter so I can use say an Harley riser.
Thanks

Yamaha risers have a stud the goes through the top clamp and a nut on the bottom, I believe the size is 10mm x 1.5 mm but it does not really matter. the Harley riser will take a non-metric bolt that goes up through the top clamp and threads into the riser. Most new riser sets come with the bolts needed but if yours does not, the best thing to do id take your new riser to the hardware store and test fit bolts until you find the right size, length will be a little longer than the stud on the Yamaha risers, get a couple of washers and lock washers too.

Some risers have a stud on the riser and it is held in place with a nut. Some risers have a threaded hole and are held in place with a bolt. In either case the metric stud or bolt is 12mm and for H-D they are 1/2 inch. 1/2 inch is a bit bigger than 12mm, so if you want to put H-D risers on a metric bike simply ream the holes up to 1/2 inch.

Only thing I had to ream out using half inch bolts for Harley risers was the crappy cable loom bracket, under the lower tree....then later when I installed 6 degree trees I dumped bracket.....it was already rusting!!
make sure bolts are long enough to go as deep as possible into risers....and blue locktite them!! MHO...

Y`all ride safe now....Mike.....

Thanks Guys,
I just needed to know the size, 1/2 is slightly less than 13mm, so if it is 12mm, 1/2 may just go right in?
I'm a Master ASE tech so all the other stuff I got, I just did not know the size and was too lazy to take it apart, I knew you guys would know.
Thank you, that saves me some work!!!

There are 25.4mm per inch so 1/2 inch is 12.7mm.
