Re:Numb Hand??? 4 Years, 10 Months ago
hey Frank....i had the exact same problem and have already had CT surgery...Doc is right i think... I got the Barons DT risers to bring the bars straight back...(
NOTE TO ANYONE WHO GETS THE DT RISERS FROM BARONS: they are awesome and work with stock cables...but do yourself a favor..they do not come with rubber washers like our standard risers ans add to vibration,,,i made some out of an old innertube..beauty and no vibes!)

After that i added a throttle cramp buster...it helps a lot as well!

since i fixed the problem on my bike i don't discuss my numb hand

hope this helps!

Like several posters before, I changed to Kuryakyn ISO grips with a throttle boss and I do not experience the numbness since the change.

Re:Numb Hand??? 4 Years, 10 Months ago
I had this happen prior to riding motocycles. I had a nerve being pinched in my back (under my sholder blade). Recently I had trouble with my gloves being too tight and causing my right hand to go numb. For my back, a couple of good deep tissue massages did the trick . For the gloves, a larger size, dummy me bought too small of a glove . I have the ISO grips with the throttle boss, these are the best grips I have used. They help with the vibration better than any other grip.

Hell I get numb hands even driving my truck guess all those crazy drivers scare me to much. Saw a rally bad one car crash today little station wagon was upside down on a dry road. Careflight had to transport the people. These nuts scare the SHXT out of me in or on anything. God help us on two wheels!

Do the Kuryakyn ISO grips really help with vibration or is it just cosmetic?

what part of you heand is going to sleep, there are several nerve tunnels that can effect your hand, if it is thelittle finger and ring finger, that is the nerve in the elbow if its the other two and thumb then it the nerve in the wrist, i built michelin tires for 18 years and developed ct so bad that i have had 3 surgeries on the left hand & elbow, two on the right hand, i would put up with my hands going to sleep now, if you straighten your arms and wrist out do the return to normal quickly? if they do i would not have the surgery, sometimes scar tissue after the surgery makes it worst, i just live with it now, at night when trying to sleep the go dead every hour & 1/2, just my 2cents everybody is differant

When I changed mine the handlebar weights that come on the 06 have to come off and my bars vibrate more at certain rpm's but the grips are more comfortable, still trying to make a set of weights that will look cool and give me some vibration dampening.
But still work with the Kury Grips, barons sells a weight for the grip but was not heavy enough. My next try is going to be a threaded rod filled with lead screwed in to the threads under the kury caps, tungsten is to much money and I do not have any handy..
