I have been running my V&H Longshots cans like that for years... I cut mine way down, then to help with back pressure, I added a washer that I welded in the center of the baffle using a small diameter piece of cold rolled...
Something else that really added to the sound of the Longshots... I added about 8" of length to the head pipes when I built the True Dual conversion out of them... they sound a lot deeper than before, but did not loose their "loudness"

I did the same when i had my lowboy shotguns on. I went from 14" down to 4" .It sounded alot better....i did notice a little torque loss on the bottom end....but not enuf to bother me. Maybe if I did the "L bracket , that would have made it right.

I am running mine without baffles. Does removing them really cost that much power. I have never ran mine with them because I love the sound without.

I rode without them as well and liked the way they sounded but loved the way the bike responded with them in place. It also sucked to be the guy riding behind me because they are really loud without the baffles in there. If you think they are loud sitting on the try getting on your buddies bike and following him down the highway for a bit. It gets old, quick.

I am digging the compromise though. It's 70 degrees here today and beautiful. Took a nice long ride through the South Western part of Phoenix and ended up out in Arlington. Tiny little town with a great biker friendly bar. Check it out if you are ever out that way.

Didn't stop in today, so couldn't tell if they were open but when it's hot out it's freakin' cold in there.
