Pipes & UltraStar's Bag Mounts 1 Year, 5 Months ago
I know there are more than a handful of people here running Jay (UltraStar's) saddlebag mounts, so I'm interested in knowing what exhaust your running with them to get an idea of what clears. I'm sure both the Roadhouse Dualey's and Freedom's True Duals will fit, but what else? My Samson StreetSweepers clear just fine, but I'm wanting to find something a little quieter and $600-800 for duals just isn't in the budget right now.

Do you have removable baffles in your pipes? If so you can wrap them, quiet them down a bit.

Nope, no baffles and no provision for baffles. Given the cans turn out they'd have to be installed where the head pipe and can connect.

i have baffles that fit those pipes.. i had them in my old samson pipes. they slip right in.. exactly where you describe.

run them as is, or wrap them with some packing to get better quieting.

id sell them for $20 plus shipping..
im in ohio as well, so shipping shouldnt be much

let me know if your interested, ill take paypal.. and i have a 100% ebay rating.

From what I've heard from others the Samson baffles really don't do much to quiet them down any, they just make the tone a little deeper. Not sure how much wrapping them would help, but might be worth a shot.

What diameter are the ones you have? My pipes take the 2" ones. Also, how are they held in place? Most I've ever seen have one or two bolts holding them in, but my pipes don't have any holes to hold them in place.

unwrapped they still quieted my pipes down
wrapped they were even quieter

ill go measure them and post back here when i get a chance

on my ripsaws, they just slid into the pipe, held in place fine.
but if you are concerned you could probably drill a small hole and use a screw to hold them.

ill take a pic of them as well.

Yeah, and I REALLY want duals but I can't justify spending $800 on them. If it were a perfect world I'd be trading in the Roadie this spring on a new Kawasaki, but I can't swing $16-18k on a new bike right now considering I still need to find a new truck.
