7/8" bar adapter? 4 Years, 10 Months ago
OK, since I've been "blessed" with these 37" long gorilla arms, all bars I've tried just feel a little too close to me. I've got the Baron's Star Bars on the bike now. I don't know if I want to go to a full drag bar, since they are a little too narrow for my taste. What I'd like is something with very little rise and pullback, but fairly wide.

I found these, sorta like the ones off the old KZ1000, but they are 7/8" bars, and all risers I have are for 1" bars. Is there any way to adapt them ?

Thanks,

RK

Here's a thunk on the problem. How about maybe 2 inch pullback riser mounted backwards so they move the bars forward

musky took the words right out of my mouth. I've actually seen that done by a guy who is 6' 7" tall. His bike didn't have a windshield, but even with a shield it ought to work unless you have a windshield pouch & then clearance would be an issue. If you try Musky's suggestion, post a pic.

I actually like the idea...hadn't thought of that! And I would do it in a heartbeat, but the only problem I would have is the riser-mounted Pro-1 tach. Guess I could rig a mirror on a post to the from fender so I could see the tach...

There's gotta be some relatively flat bars out there...somewhere...

Have you read through here to see if maybe there are bars that would work for you?

Narrow ... what's too narrow.

My drag bars are 32" wide ... I think.
