Barnett Clutch upgrade 1 Year, 4 Months ago
OK, I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Barron's Clutch kit. I don't know why my clutch slips at high RPM, but it's getting annoying.

I want to know, what exactly do I need to order to do the clutch upgrade? Is there a list of specific parts or is there a kit? Can I get this from Clifford?, or do I need to order right from Barron's? HELP!

I have the Barnett in mine and it solved the slipping issue. The Yami leaf-type plate is a piece of junk!

That's the one, what all needs to be bought to do the replacement? Did you buy a kit, just the spring and new gaskets? Do you have part numbers?

The kit plus the gasket ... that's it.

I don't have the part number on hand.

Got it, thanks Clifford! Great price!

Is it a good idea to also change the Oil pump gear while I'm in there? Or was that just on older model bikes that needed a better Oil pump gear? I have an 07 1700cc.

You won't see the oil pump! It is in the middle of the engine and you have to remove the engine from the frame and split the case to get to it .

Wow! An 07 and you need a clutch already? How many miles you have on it? I have an 07 with a little over 10k. I hope I won't need a clutch to soon.

It's not the clutch per say it's the pressure plate spring that's the problem. It's a giant concave washer used as a spring. By adding a better spring or going to the Barnett SR2 pressure plate that cures the slipping that people are experiancing. Depending on how you ride as to when it will start to happen. Most people from being on this forum start to notice it at 20,000 & up. And if your not hard on the throttle you may never notice it.

I just posted a message -Thank you "Clifford"- the other day. I drove to Sebring and he took great care of me installing the Barnett clutch kit. You can't go wrong dealing with him.
