Good deal or no? 2 Years, 4 Months ago
|
|
Just one quick question. Is $5700 a good deal on an '04 Midnight Star Silverado with 4800 miles on it? Looked the bike over, can't find any obvious problems. Has good tires, V&H Lonshots, AIS removed, and is very clean, like showroom clean. Oil was just changed, and all maintenance records come with it. Started up instantly, even in the 20 something degree weather we were having yesterday, and only took about 5 minutes to run well off choke, so it seems to be well tuned. Anything else I should be looking at, and am I off my rocker thinking I better buy it?
Thanks fellas.

Hey Lax, you could probably find a better price, don't know that you could find a better bike though....dealer or private? Offer $47 cash and make him drop a few hundred...personally, I'd give 5 for it with the mods....good luck

The bike is at a dealer, but is on consignment. I will definitely be seeing if I can work him down a little, but not sure if that will happen at all. For comparison, at a dealer just down the road, they have a 99 R* with 19k miles on it for $5000, and that's the cheapest I've been able to locate one around these parts. The stars seem to be a little expensive around here for some reason.

If it's on consignment...jot the the lic. plate#, call DMV and get the name of the owner, go behind the dealers back and get yourself a screamen deal, you know there is a grand the guy is giving up through the consignment process...PS: ease your concience, it's just business

Well this says alot for R* owners and what they think of the motorcycle. Ironman not sure what year your bike is but would you take a low ball offer for your bike?
And Jona yours is a 2004 same as the one this member is thinking about buying, How about I offer you say $4000 for your bike will you sell it? I mean your bike is 7 years old so really according to you guys it's not worth much. I guess what I'm learning is that if you buy a R* you better plan on riding it to death or figure on giving it away as even R* owners don't think they are worth much used!Kind of sad to think about

If you want it, determine what you would be willing to pay for it... is that$5k, $5,200, $5,500?
All dealer prices are starting points for negotiation. No dealer expects you to really pay full asking price.
The Midnight Star Silverado with just 4,800 miles is good for the $5k to $5,500.
If you want it, just do it! The Midnight Star has all the chrome extras!!!

$4700 may allow the owner to keep his house and feed his family...it's simply business, no reason to make it personal, and yes, I've had to sell **** to feed my family, so, no, I don't feel bad about swingen a deal, ya win some, ya lose some, it's life, has nuthen to do with the price of cantaloupe
