highway bars--Lindby Linbar 1 Year, 4 Months ago

Hey dudes, I'm ready to do my next winter mod--highway bars.
Here's the thing, I have the 6 degree triple tree on the front so there's a good amount of space behind the front wheel housing. I don't want a huge, gay looking highway bar, so I'm thinking the Lindby Linbar because it looks slimmer. My desired highway bar is a slimmer bar.
The reason why I want a highway bar is for comfort. I currently have three inch floorboard extentions on the floorboards but they don't seem long enough for my legs. That's why I want a highway bar and then pegs.
Here's my concern, I read a thread here where someone complained that the Linbar cracks. Does this really happen? Is this a valid concern?
Finally, for leg comfort, is the Lindby Linbar the way to go? If not, what do you all suggest?
Oh, finally, for you guys who have the Lindby Linbar, how difficult is the installation?
Thanks!

i've had 2. no cracks. relatively easy install (have to get 90 deg. drill bit adptr). best setup is to get some highway pegs to have multiple options to prop your feet up on longer rides

Thanks for the reply. So do you think that your highway bars are really thick, like other highway bars? Also, what highway pegs are you running. They look pretty hot.

says you gotta do some drilling. Can one of you boys spell out to a slow mofo' what type of drilling needs to be done. And, if there's a video out there, I'd love to see it.
Thanks!

I'm the one that had the problems with the bar cracking right above the 90 degree bend on the right side. I also have problems with the foot peg mounting plate cracking too. I have replaced both the bar once and the foot peg mounting brackets twice. I called Lindby and they machinged a new set of mounting brackets that were much more beefy than the ones that it came with the first time out. Since then I have had no problems.... keeping fingers crossed though. As far as foot positioning, there is alot of play around room to mount the foot pegs. I bought the Lindby foot pegs also, way to expensive but, it looked really good to me so it was worth it. You can see a better pic in my profile.
