back in my crotch rocket days I used to say I'd never have a bike with a windshield, saddle bags, floorboards or a back rest. That was then. Now I'm 60.

My Roadie has a Mustang Vintage Studded seat with backrest. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Waylon, if you're talking about the one on Ebay that looks like this (see pic) look under "Tech Tips" for backrests and read the article on build your own backrest. That's what I did and I have about $35 in it and it works great. I found the pad at the dealer as a new bike take-off that was on clearance for $20 but even at full price for the pad, you'll have alot less than $115 in it.

Waylon I get my new Ultimate 3 piece seat set Tuesday. I am going to sell my home made backrest on e-bay when I get the Ultimate. If you are intersted let me know and I will give you first shot at it. It is a plain R* back rest that I put brads on and made a home made mount for it. It has two screws that you remove with the drivers seat off and then it just lifts out and the mounting base stays bolted under the passanger seat bracket. PM me if you are intersted in it.

I just put the ebay backrest on my R* made by Firehouse Customs. It is perfect! It took a couple of minutes to drill a hole larger to move the mount a bit but I am very pleased.

After seeing it, it would be very easy to make if you can cut metal.

Thanks for the replies fellas, after reading the build your own article it looks easy enough. If I can find a low price pad I'll do that, but the time that it will take to do it between messing around with my 9 month old son and working it's hard to decide wether to buy or build. The time i do get, I want to be riding, maybe I can take a rainy day and build it, I guess I'm not in any big hurry, just when I decide I want something for my bike I want it now!!

Sent you a PM Curt.
