HEX/allen wrenches 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Curious what you guys use. I bought a set of socket allen wrenches to use with my torque wrench and to this day I cannot use them. I tired using them on my hex nuts that hold the exhaust pipe in place but they are too bulky and the pipe interferes so I cannot use them for that.
The other day I tried to torque down my carb joint (intake manifold)and again they were too bulky to fit. Has anyone found a set of allen wrenches that can be used with a torque wrench that works on both the exhaust pipe and intake manifold?

I bought a cheap set of those at Lowes for exhaust bolts n such....they work great. But if I would try to get them in a tight spot , I can see where they'd get too bulky.

Try craftsman or mack or snap-on tools. I beleive they make a set of socket end allens that would work on a torque wrench.

I have two big sets of metric allen wrenches (one with ball ends) plus a socket set (Craftsman) for things I need to torque.
Also, dont forget guys, carry a short set of allen's on your bike. You need them more than anything else in your tool kit and it doesn't come with them.

I have a set of Snap-on allen sockets I use every time I work on my bike. So I'm a little confused as to why you can't seem to fit yours on the exhaust? I use the allen socket along with a long extension and have no problem getting my exhaust bolts off. Does your exhaust headers prevent you from getting in there?

You could also try the extra long hex bit socket set
