Nice to meet you BB. Hope your friend found his key, and glad he brought a spare.
Hope you guys had a safe trip home.
I test rode the Tour Deluxe. It is a totally different animal that is for sure. No where near the torque of the Road* but a smooth ride. Very easy to handle. It would take some getting use too. I am hoping when I get Bucks lowers its helps out with the buffetting from under the windshield that is the biggest difference as far as the ride between the bikes, and what a windshield on the deluxe. My Road* feels more like me, but that is probably because I am use to it. I am sure with the true cruise control the longer rides would be more enjoyable, but it just didn't feel like I was riding a bike, just to quite... I will just dress my Road* up a bit for the longer rides and stay with it for many years.

Lost key eh?
Lost mine at Myrtle Beach bike week. Luckily I found it in one of the bars I was in the night before. I had a spare made first thing that day. I keep the spare in my wallet.
Since the only "secure" storage on the bike needs a key to get to, I got to thinking about where to stick another one. Finally came up with putting one under the instrument cluster. Duct tape it to the tank under the cluster. Much eaiser to find a 5mm hex than a key!

Jreed hope you had a good time at star days, wish I could have made it.
I thought the tour deluxe felt a little bulky compared to the roadstar.
I've got bucks lowers on mine and it cuts the wind sigifintly. You'll like them.

Post edited by: Greysnake, at: 2007/07/27 17:51

I pretty much ate breakfast then road the Tour Deluxe and was scheduled to ride the new 1300 vstar , but work called and had to leave. I was hoping to ride the liner too, but didn't get a chance.
I wasn't trying to put the deluxe down, I guess I am so used to the noise and when I twist the throttle on my Road* I feel in the seat of my pants. In all honesty if you did alot of freeway and long distance riding the Deluxe would probably be better in that reguard. It had power but it was just geared so different it took a while to get it up to speed. Wasn't any throw back, but it was smooth as silk. Also it whined kinda like a torbo, not the sucking sound of the BAK.
I did alittle riding after I got work starighted out and meet some guys From Indiana. They had been at Star Days all week they are headed back in the morning and the weather is supposed to be nasty. I hope they have a safe trip, glad its them and not me. They had some really nice Road*'s.

Good to meet you too Jreed. Glad all went well. The key turned up (someone turned it in to the guy doing all the talking over the P.A. system , and it was Johns). Took some pics,(at the bike show), Met Scott from Barons (talked on the phone before), got to ride up to the top of lookout mountain, and got home safely, can't beat that , I guess. And it was only 2 hours from home, what a bonus. Nice to see all those Stars with a few Harleys mixed in , instead of the other way around, like at other events I've gone too. Got some Ideas (When the $$ shows up). BB
