ARGH.

You would think that the morons that manufacture bars would know that when you powder coat a 1" diameter piece of tube, it will end up larger than 1" when finished. Of course, everything that is made for our bikes is made for 1" bars.... This is becoming a real PITA.

Next time I'm going chrome.....

Did the same thing on my 1100, a little bit o sand paper and some attention to detail and all was well

Sanding is the least of what I have done to them. Didn't like the shape, so I cut them in 3 pieces, rotated the sides and welded them. Ground the welds, bondo and paint. Drilled the weights out of the old bars, turned them down to fit the new and welded them in. Now I'm not even sure I like the darn things. Lord, this modding is a sickness...

Yep it is. FWIW your doing great.

I have a set of black raider drag bars sitting on my bench right now. I have to modify the triple covers on the liner to make them work. It never ends, thankfully. I love a good challenge.

Hoping your bars work out fireman. Post some pics if you get chance.

fireman, you guys take modding to a new level.. i had a hard enough time putting chromed wheels on my bike..the plating had to be removed from every place that was made for a bearing or a bolt.. hell, i dont even know how to weld..
