I agree. I remember back in the AMF days, the Harley shops were anything that could hold a few bikes, have pegboard and shelving for some parts, and a shop in back to work on the bikes. If you wanted shirts and jackets and such you went to J C Penny's.

I have to agree with Mark7 , racing these over weight bike's

My old 1983 Honda Night Hawk, worth less than a grand would smoke a HD or a RoadStar

Don't get me wrong I LOVE THE TORQUE and MY BIKE , but she's not fast !

It wasn't about racing, it was about the attitude this HD guy had. I don't think he will be bragging to his friends.

I love it when the HD guys drool over my bobber. Went on a ride yesterday and a couple of new guys went with us. One was on a new HD Road Glide decked out and couldn't stop talking about how he love my bike.

I'm guilty of drooling all the time. When out on my HD I admire everyone's bike. No attitudes here. If it's got two wheels (or three) I love to check them all out. But the R* takes the cake...... I guess that's why I had to get me one. I agree Curt, your ride is tough.

Hey fishhead, I know this is off topic, but what nighthawk do you have? I have the 82 750, and for a nearly 30 year old bike it's still a blast to ride. It's just getting really hard to find parts for.

I don't drool, but I love to check out other bikes, I do like pretty much any bike that someone has taken the time to "Make it his own". Off the rack or strictly stock are just blank pallets that need some color.

The RS and the HD are not race bikes, maybe the guy stayed way back to let you know that he was not interested in racing, maybe he wasn't trying to race you the first time, he was just showing off his work.
