For some folks, it's the acceptance into an American Camaraderie, nothen at all wrong with that, but for me, 2 wheels and a motor, I ride what I can afford at the time, if I had my druthers, I'd convert a Lear Jet into a bike, go for it hoblik and have fun

If I were in the market I'd say $7,000 is reasonable for a 10 year old custom Yamaha like that, even with the low miles. You never make it all back when you customize- it's more of a creative outlet than an investment.

I'm with Brother Bill, $ 10,000 sounds about right. That's with it done of course.

in today's market 10,000 would be hard 7,000 is more realistic

What, no Darkside??? Looks good, hope you get your price.

I would keep it (if I could afford to) and ride it while you customize the HD, then you have one to ride while the other is in pieces. Just a thought!

Yeah, from the cars to the bikes you have great modification skills. Even before you got the HD I wondered how long the R* would be in stable now that the challenge of building had passed.

Selling it, as BBill, Jade, and Doc have mentioned, would only give a slight bump over BlueBook unless the right buyer comes along who appreciates the hours into it. Parting it out would likely bring more dollars. Watching your build progress I would have bought most of your parts myself if I had not already bought most of what I need already (would still buy some anyway if you parted it out, esp the air ride and pipes with extensions...I could go on and on).

Like I said, you've got skills and the gift of a good eye for customization. The $ return on selling the custom R* will be far less than the parts but let it go and move on to the HD challenge. Actually, some of the parts may even fit the HD depending on the year (Bad Dad rear fender, stretched bags, front fender, etc.).

Can't wait to see both the painted R* and the HD customization progress!

When I had to sell either my Valk or my wing, I too asked the question on another forum. I got a great answer and it worked. I was told to hold on to both for two months. Hang the keys next to each other and over that period of time, keep track of the keys i took most often. The wing went

I would keep it. Keeps you on the road when your working on the other one. It may surprise you on witch one you prefer to ride. I have several bikes including Harleys (new & old), and I put way more miles on the Road* than I do all the others combined.

That's a good idea. I was gonna sell the HD when I get the R*. But the more I think about it I may keep both and go from there. They are two different bikes with two different styles..... and I like them both.
