I am 6'2 and around 265 lbs (I'm trying to lose weight - honest!!!).

My roadstar is a 2006 and my wife HATED the stock passenger pillion so the search was on to upgrade the seats. We investigated almost every type of seat pad and aftermarket seat on the market before making a purchase. I heard good things about Ultimate Seats, but they are too expensive for me. I was also surprised to learn that Ultimate Seats are not waterproof.

We ended up getting the Mustang Seats and have been pleased. The seat did move me forward approx. 2" and I almost sent them back for that reason alone. However, the seats were very comfortable so we decided to keep them. I ended up getting a tank bra to protect the tank. The seat raised me slightly higher, but no big deal. My wife gets "biker butt" worse than I do and I would guess she can stay on the bike almost twice as long as before.

I would love the opportunity to try other seats before making the purchase! Some bike shows allow you the opportunity, but very rare for the Metric crowd.

Roadies:

I finally took the plunge and purchased a Mustang Vintage Wide Touring Seat (Plain) from Biker Haven. I took two short solo rides today and I can honestly say that I think I'm going to love this seat.

Thanks to all for their helpful input!

06Midnight*~

Glad to hear you got the mustang. I've had one for two years now and wouldn't trade it for anything. Just did almost 3000 miles on it a couple weeks ago and unlike some of the others that I've heard about they're butts going numb on long rides, we had a 750 mile day and I was a little sore, but certainly not numb and could have done more. My wife would kill me if I considered someting different. She loves it!! Good luck with it!
