Here is the finding from the Dealership.
Carb was jetted wrong,
Was misting from somewhere causing the bike and my leg to catch fire.
I didnt touch the carbs but next time I will dabble with it since I now know the history.
Total cost 200$ for jets and tune.

Worth it. Bike runs amazing.
Two downsides.
Its not as loud.
second downside- not as cool as being on fire.

The same thing happened to me last year. It would only do it in HOT weather. I took mine to the dealership the other day and they replaced the needle in the carb and said that there was also something wrong with some kind of seal or something like that and they replace that also. After parts and labor for everthing I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $60. I can tell the bike overall is running better and is more calm at idle. Good luck with it.

Good to hear its running better but keep in mind improper jetting doesnt make carb as you said MIST fuel out of air filter area on your leg.

Thats generally issues with float/dirt in carb/needle & seat issues or it can also be carb puking fuel out its vent tube which is very common with many R*'s (esp with winter blend fuel) thats attached to a metal brkt on rear of stock air cleaner housing where it blows raw fuel onto right side of motor at times.

So if you still have fuel comming out when you shut down bike hot and it heat soaks for a few mins then you will need to insualte the fuel system/metal fuel line between cyls/carbs float bowl to stop fuel from overheating/boiling in those places.

Or you could go pumpless and replace lrg stock air cleaner housing allowing much better cooling of motor/fuel system that would also stop overheating of fuel system thus stopping carb puke.

i had a similar incident but dint catch fire. my carb had fuel squirting out side everytime i hit the throttle found a bad accelerator pump o ring. these carbs have a seperate o ring from the float bowl gasket. whenever you have it apart make sure its there and in good shape.

I'm glad you and the bike are both ok but seriously, this is one of the funniest topics I've read in awhile.

Yep gives new meaning to the term "HOT SH*T"...and I'm more than inclined to guess you had a pant load.
Glad you had some gloves on to stem the fire.....It does suck when you have to use your own leathers...
Glad all is restored and well nothing damaged but your Pride
this might help

My first Harley was a '76 Super Glide, Carb caught on fire regularly so I alway kept a baseball cap on the mirror. Beats tearing your shirt off in the middle of an intersection. And then there was the engine case bolt that kept working loose and blocking the rear brake.

Glad you're alright, carb fires are USUALLY not too serious. Stuck float is my bet....
