Heat 4 Years, 9 Months ago
Has anyone been riding in this heat? Our temp is shown as 104.8 at 3:00 in the afternoon. I haven't been on the bike all week. Been driving the Jeep with AC on high to work and back. 105 Degrees at 70 mph, Don't they make ovens that do the same thing? Guess that would have me well done in 20% less time when I get home. You Northerners have "cabin Fever" in the winter but ours is in the summer. No need to be outside between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm.

You must be getting old.

We had some of that hot weather the last couple of weeks - 95 and humid.

You're right, it's like standing in front of the convetion oven when you open the door.

But it sure makes for a nice evening ride to Timmy's for an IceCap.

We're roasting here in the midwest too. At or near triple digits for the past five days. Haven't been doing any "joy riding" but still commuting on the bike 'cause it beats sitting in a truck with no A/C. Thinking I might get up early Sunday morning and go for a ride before it gets too hot, 'cause like Gramps said, I'm beginning to get cabin fever.

The other night I took a ride to meet my wife at the train. She was getting in after dark and I didn't want her walking to her car alone.

Anyway, it was ripping hot but I figured the evening would be cooler and the night breeze would feel good.....WRONG.

It felt like I was driving with a hair dryer blowing in my face the whole way!!!

We're breaking records in the Atlanta area...If I wanted 103 in the shade I would have stayed in Phoenix. Rode Last night at dusk. By the second light I was soaked in sweat. Not fun.

Its not fun riding when you are soaked when you return from a 30 minute ride. I think it hit 100 today in Dalton... Thats hot enough to steam the old oysters..

Well, I just had the opposite problem - cold. Came back from a trip around the Olympic Peninsula in Washington and had to buy a sweater!! Mid 50's to low 60's for 800 miles. Good riding if you're dressed for it, but we were not. It's mid-August and it's not supposed to be like this. Oh yeah and then there was the rain. Beautiful county though - I'd recommend it.

Bunch of candy arses! Wife and I took a 260 mile ride last Sunday with it in the high 90's. She got cooked I am just REAL brown. I ride to work and back every day and it's in the tripple digits. I rode all last summer too in 105 heat. I ride all year long till it gets 32 then I quit I don't do freezing. I got enough of blackice in England when I first started riding. That's one reason my bike is named BlackIce.
