Trailering 6 Years, 6 Months ago
I will be trailering my Roadie to Florida this winter for the first time. I have never trailered it before what is the best method for tieing it down? Do the forks have to be compressed? I would ride it but need the van there too!

Thanks

Jimmy, if you can tie down your bike from the front and the rear, you'll be good to go. I trailered my bike from Wyoming to South Florida without a problem. I used a tie down extension and wrapped it around and above the fender mount on the lower leg so I could easily tighten the ratcheting tie down without compressing the legs. Do it evenly on both sides so your bike is up straight, then tie down the rear. I just hooked the plastic coated hooks on to the rear horn for the seat/rear fender mount and tightend it up to keep the rear of the bike from moving side to side.
