I guess we've all had bad experiences with dealerships whether they be car, motorcycle or others. We recently saw a merger of our Harley Davidson / Buell dealership and Yamaha / Suzuki dealership. Both these dealerships previously had mediocre reputations.

With this merger the management has gone through an attitude adjustment with a lot more attention to customer focus.

Before my recent purchase of Road King from this dealership I walked into the shop to have a look over the refurbished premises. I was greeted by a salesman who offered me a coffee. I told him I was only admiring the bikes and was tyre-kicking and filling in time. He told me they don't treat people as tyre-kickers and if I had some spare time I was welcome to take a bike for a ride. I took him up on the offer and went for a ride on a new Road King. He also gave me a reasonably new Road King to take home for the weekend to see if the bike suited me.

When I returned the bike the salesman took me out to the workshop and introduced me to the head mechanic and then through the parts and accessories section. I then met the dealer principal who told me that every person who walked through their door was important to them.

Within the next week they assisted me with the sale of my Rocket III and I signed the contract to purchase a new Road King. Each time I visit them I am warmly greeted by all their staff.

Seems to me this dealership has learnt how to run a successful business.

Before I found my Roadie, I looked at HD's. Found a nice used one locally at a dealer. Walked in, and asked how flexible they were on the price.... the salesman said, "We don't deal. The price is what we want." I said OK, went to the Yamaha dealer, walked in, looked at 5 used Roadstars, picked out 'mine', and said '"How much will you knock off the price?" He said a grand if I would commit on the spot, and I said, "Sold!". I hear the HD dealers are getting a lot better about customer service. Truthfully, I'm glad I went with the Roadie...

Dealer up here ain't bad. Daughter got to sit on a couple without any "commitment". Co-worker has an 01' Fatboy and has about 7 grand in chrome from them on it. To say he's royalty with them is understating it. Now if he'd ride it once in a while ...

Not a Harley Fan but the dealership by me rocks. They sponsor some great rides, play movies at night and have bike drive in to watch it. Wish I could bad mouth them but they treat me too well for a non harley rider.

Yes mate it sure does. To me it's simple maths, i.e. you treat one customer badly, a lot will hear about it..... you treat one customer well, a lot more will hear about it
