Ottawa Police issued 79 tickets during a focused enforcement blitz targeting motorcycle and car street racing in the south end. Ottawa Police stopped and checked 152 motorcycles and 103 cars in the area of Rideau River, Riverside and Hunt Club last Friday. Provincial Offence Notices were issued for speeding, unnecessary noise, improper equipment, driving under suspension and no insurance. Didn't stop me but it's a sad day. We are slowly being forced to conform. Before I retired I patroled as many as four counties by myself. We had to do the criminal work as well as traffic,plus complaints,domestics,cats in trees, the whole nine yards. That seemed like over kill to me.
