Techron, Ring free, Seafoam. They all do pretty much the same thing. How much depends on what you want to do. If you want to do a gradual clean up just use a couple ounces in a tank for 3 or 4 tanks and see how it goes. No oil change needed. If you want to do a shock treatment and blast everything out of there dump the whole can in a tank and run it hard through the tank. Then change your oil as soon as the tank is empty. My .6 cents anywho.

I figure as long as I want to hammer it and i'm going to have to change the oil anyway I might as well use the whole can. I can't say for certain though that a whole can works any better than a 1/2 can. There might be a point of diminishing returns.

Don't know how that stuff works in a bike engine, but I used the seafoam product in an old 350 chebby boat engine that was running kinda rough and it worked wonders.. I fed it staight into the engine thru a vaccum line. had the engine running about 2000 rpm and stuck the line into the can, it sucked it all up until it stalled out, let it sit over night and cranked it up the next mornin.. man, you talk about smoke, It looked like the whole dock was on fire, but it cleared eventually and the motor was purring like a well fed cat..

For what is is worth - when trying to clean up my SVS problem I did a shock treatment with SeaFoam - no real improvement. Then did one with Ring Free and BOOM is was gone. Wasted $$$$ on the first oil change. Depends on what you want to get done, but moving forward I will shell out the bucks for the Ring Free

Perhaps it was the second treatment not so much the brand that did the trick. Just a thought.
