kick stand question 2 Years ago
|
|
|
I'm sorry to say that this is a serious question.
I've been riding for over 40 years and this kickstand is driving me nuts. Is there a trick to putting it down. All the other bikes I've riden the kickstand gets pushed forward and down. The r* kickstand wants to go out almost horizontal to the frame. I have a hell of a time "hooking" my foot to move the stand.

I just spent the last hour "adjusting" that extender. It helps a little.......but.

I had a hard time putting my kickstand down. I'd grab it with my foot but it would always slip.
I greased the pivot point so the stand would move easier. Now I have no issues with putting down the kickstand...

Yup.Mine got harder and harder to put down. Finally sprayed the pivot with some Teflon-based spray and it was cured. For about 900 miles of rain. Then it got tough again....

I squirted once with white lithium grease and it's been a couple of years but I don't ride in the rain.

Yup, a little oil will do wonders. every time I wash the bike I toss some oil or grease on it.
