Hard Kore baffles - smartpartz 5 Years ago
Hello,

Has anyone seen or heard how these work with Hard Krome exhaust?

www.smartpartz.com

They say they reduce the sound by 10 decibels... Is that a lot?

Post edited by: Hypecat, at: 2007/05/09 12:05

Hi hypercat, Starman here . Yes I have had these for about amonth on my road* midnight silverado . Ireally like the sound now. Before they were kinda tinny and loud. Now they have a low rummbly sound, but little quieter at speed but will bark if you role onthe throttle really anice sound . Super e z to install. Takes about ten mins. You dont take your baffles out . These slide right into your old baffles. I would recomend these I would buy again.

Wow! With all the talk on here about HK fixes, this almost sounds too good to be true. Hey Starman (welcome to the Clinic BTW), what year is our R*, do you have stock intake/jetting, and did you have to adjust your mixture to install?

Starman,

How much quieter did they become? I have been riding with the HKs for a few days now and what I have found, is that I ride much less agressively with these pipes. With the Muzzy's I could ride it harder with less volume. I was considering remove the baffles from the Muzzy's and trying to fabricate a similar baffle for the HKs, but that might take more time than I care to spend....

Anyway, if you could give me an idea how it compares to stock that would help.

Here is my comparison

Stock at idle 1, stock at WOT 3
Muzzy's at idle 4, Muzzy's at WOT 7
HK's at idle 5, HK's at WOT 10

Seem reasonable?

Hi hypercat, they are about about 3 at idle,at steady speed you can hear passenger talking to you, steady speed 60-65. the wind noise is greater. But like I said if you roll on the throttle hard may be 3-4 dec. differance. on a scale of 1-10about a 4 but a more pleasing sound.
