Manifold porting garage day 4 Years, 9 Months ago
Everyone,

I am still getting a lot of requests to port manifolds, and just don't have time to do them. However, I truly believe I have (by trial and error) found a better way to port manifolds that produces superior results. Not being able to use it to help others is a real waste.

After a lengthy discussion about this on Sunday with a close friend here in Southern California, it seemed like it would be a good idea to pass this on to a few folks who have the tooling and time to port manifolds for others (vendors are welcome too).

So.... I am looking for a few folks who have large/industrial drill presses and who would like to learn to do what I was doing. Looking to schedule a garage day about 1 month from now where we can get everyone together and give each a chance to port a manifold using this process.

EDIT NOTE: The drill press I use is a large floorstanding modal I purchased from harbor freight. Its a chinese model, all I cared about was the size of the bearings which I knew were going to get a lot of abuse from this process.

Please respond here in this thread if you are interested, or if you are not a member of the clinic you can contact us via the "contact us" option on the main menu of our home page.

If we get a few folks who are interested, will post date/time for this event.

Thanks!!

Proted??? Is that some kind of high performance procedure that you're not sharing with the rest of the class?! BB

I'd be interested, but I don't have a drill press right now. Maybe this is the excuse I need to go get one...

UT14:

If you can make it, would love to have you join us.

Emphasis on the drill press and its bearing size is due to the process. I found I could do an extraordinary job when I was holding the manifold firmly in my hand as opposed to the tools. The drill press was a perfect way to do it.

Thought I would bump this up. A lot of new members and there seems to be interest in porting. Might be able to get something going.
