Just got back from Victory demo ride... 1 Year ago
My brother and I went to the demo rides today. I road the Cross Country and my bro road the Kingpin. Needless to say, I was not at all impressed with the Cross Country. I went there with high hopes that I would love this bike, NOOOTTT! The seat had me pushed forward, something I'm not use to. On my bike I still have the stock seat and I can sit far back on that thing. It was difficult for me to handle at low speed. The 106 engine felt sluggish and non responsive. I must be use to the instant blast of torque from the R*, which is the feeling I like. I could never find the powerband in this engine; I was shifting all over the place trying to find it. Under hard acceleration there was a vibration from the motor or trans, couldn't tell, that felt like an unbalanced drive shaft in a truck. And the breaks were too touchy for my taste. I did like the cruise control and radio.

I really wanted to demo the High-Ball but the seat had me feeling like I was sitting on the tank, so I passed.

Interesting review. The CC always does so well in many write-ups. Victory does make some nice looking rides though. I can say I am one of those that really likes the look of the Vision and would consider one IF i were to ever think of upgrading.

The CC does get wonderful reviews and is a nice bike but as a Strat owner I agree with the above statement 110%.

I had high hopes based on the reviewes, but was suprisingly disappointed. The Strat Deluxe is a very nice looking bike and has all sorts of room. Just wish there was a dealer around here that allowed test rides. I wish Star would do demos around here too. At least my bike is part Liner. Front wheel that is.

At 5'5", I'm not really concerned about 'room' on a bike, but the Strat Deluxe is my ultimate dream bike. I love the looks of that thing, and 113 c.i. just makes me drool!!!

I too like the strat. I'm 5'7 and win I sent on it, it got me too streched out. Some 4" pull backs would solve that. Just dreaming...

First off, I think Victory builds some Sweet Bikes. That being said, I feel they're inflated prices are in the ballpark of Harleys which are also overpriced, but have a long history and huge following. Perhaps if Victory could find a way to price their machines to similar Japanese cruisers they'd give HD a run for their money for the American Motorcycle market. JMO

I have to agree with everything nightrider has to say, except that at 5'8" I had a TON of room on that thing. I rode my Roadie to the Victory dealer last summer and tried out the CC. Didn't like it at all and made me appreciate my Roadie all the more. That was a good ride home.
