Re:Gas Mileage 3 Years, 11 Months ago
2 weekends ago I went on a 320 mile trip (mostly Highway and going about 70) riding 2up and got 47mpg. Most of my riding is 2up to work and back about 50/50 city and highway where I get about 40. Going to work and back my fuel light comes on around 155 miles but I have never gone more that just a few miles after the light comes on and never put in more than 3.9 gallons at fuel up. I know my speedometer if off by about 5 or 6% so the 155 miles is more like 147 when the light comes on. But the 320 trip was off my gps.

I just installed a HSR 42mm Flatside carb I got from Maxair Engineering and get 44.7 mpg and that was getting on it a couple of times. Stock advertised mpg is 36 mpg you can use that as a point of measure. If you are getting less than 36 mpg then there is a problem with jetting or air leak. If you get more be happy.

Re:Gas Mileage 1 Year ago
I have a 2007 Roadie. When I first got the bike I dont know the mileage, but I would have to go to reserve after 197 miles. Stock setup. Now with Speedstar 42 HSR carb, speedstar ported/polish manifold, ngk iridiums (changed to stock last night), v&H shorty pipes, custom Voes system, barnett clutch spring and clutch plates. I have to go to reserve anywhere from 139-141 miles, fast or slow.

so much for the EPA..... sometimes ditching the epa requirements are a better thing.........most of us have, and the bike will run better and get better MPG...........the govmint thinks that we will ride until it burns, they don't have a clue how much we care about our engine's because the only bench mark they have is the cagers. Many will run a car into the dirt and then trade..It's a disposable world we live in. They don't really know how we think of our bikes..................
