Speaking of pulleys...the stock is what, 32 tooth? If I wanted to get higher speed at lower RPM and I have no interest in quick starts, would I move up a tooth?

Obviously no genius here, but it seems to me that the laws of physics dictate more teeth at the front for faster rotation at the rear.... Just realized how interesting THAT statement sounded. hehe

No chunt, It's actually the opposite, the less teeth on the front will give you a quicker accel.. but it may kill your top end unless you can get a few more RPM's out of the mill...if you can, then you can have your cake and eat it too..

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually not looking for quicker accel. I'm looking for running my gears out a bit further on the top end. I find myself often between gears at certain, pretty common speeds. I'd just as soon stay in a lower gear and have the engine sound all comfy cozy rather than hear it whine in 3rd, for example, and chug in 4th.

1600 - 33
1700 - 32

You need to go bigger on the front or smaller on the rear to keep the RPMs down.

Thanks, Musky,

Then I'd be looking to do a 33-tooth on the front then.

Yup. As long as you don't mind the drop in take off that will help. Don't know if it will make a huge difference though.
