put 14's on my sportster exclusively for looks, fell in love with how it felt and couldnt believe i had wasted years riding without apes haha... 2 weeks later had 16in apes on my roadstar and will never go back...
and im 5'5 so 16in apes put my arms parallel to ground and i have never had any issues with hands going numb at all, just love em

i found the standard bars a bit to low for me, being a lanky git at 6ft 5". long distances didn´t cause pain, just could have been more comfortable.

i stuck 12" apes on standard risers. the height has my hands just below shoulder level (my personal optimum), and now 800km days at 80mph are easy.
