cargo space 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi folks, I know you can help me with this one. I need something to carry a few things in on occasion (like a six pac ) and have seen some ads for throw over bags and roll bags. the roll bag is pretty straight forward(straps on the handle bars I guess) but I have no idea how throw overs work.. in any case, I want something that needs no brackets left behind when I take it off..

Throw over bags just go over the rear fender..usually the leather strap between the bags go under the rear seat. which you dont have. Most guys use the chrome bag supports that would be mounted behind the bags.. just to keep the bags from moving in towards your rims. Their no big deal, they bolt on to the same bolts that your fender trim (eyebrows) use.

Flashback, you could get Ghostbrackets, mount bags to them , the hardware for the Ghostbrackets are small, hardly noticeable, and when you don't want them on, unlock them from the bike, and set them in your garage. That's what I use, and love them.BB

EDIT: Flashback, if you look closely at my bike between my knee and the turnsignal, you'll see a little nub. That's the mount for the ghostbrackets.

Post edited by: Big Bear, at: 2007/09/02 11:59

The Ghost brackets are awesome, the bags come off so easy. Have had them on all summer and love the ease of removal for washing or just when I am hitting the town to admire the sites. http://www.personainternet.com/teeper/BIKE100_1752.JPG

Post edited by: Teeper, at: 2007/09/03 09:22

I bought mine from JP Cycles, Dennis Kirk sells them as well. That is where I bought the bags from. Saddleman makes some nice bags.
