Roughly 45 MPG US gallons. Not too bad.

Unless you have hi compression pistons, the premium fuel is wasting money. We run better on 87 octane or Regular in the US

Sheepdog, just thought I would try the premium (did not notice a difference)

I will use reg fuel on my next journey, still very happy with the mileage.

Premium is designed to prevent premature detonation when highly compressed. As our rides are low compression, it does nothing for us. It is also been said that due to the way it burns that it "might" contribute to carbon build up and potential SVS.

And is excellent MPGs

I know what you are saying, just hate the fact that we have to put ethanol in the gas.

I will store the bike with premium, and stabil over the winter just to be on the safe
side.

Good to know about the SVS Thanks.

I seem to have better performance with the middle grade gas.

If the choice I had was between 87 with ethanol or 91 without, I would use the 91. I just don't think there is in validity to the higher octane causing svs. In the area I live in you are hard pressed to find any fuel with ethanol. In OKC it is plentiful.. but not here, people just won't buy it around here. I have run all grades in my bike, and cannot tell the difference in any of it. I try to stay away from the ethanol. But on roadtrips sometimes I have to fillup with it. If the premiun fuel is giving you that kind of mileage stick with it...my mileage gos down with the ethanol.

Everyone's mileage goes down with ethanol. Ethanol doesn't contain as much energy as gasoline. End ethanol subsidies, and just give us gasoline!!!

Agpilot, the E word is bad news to anybody that flys piston aircraft

as you would know, there is nothing good about putting it in are gas.

I will just for S&G try 87 reg on my next fill to see if it makes a difference

on the mileage, being that I fly also makes putting ethanol in anything hard to do.

Ps Hope my mileage drops, then the choice will be easy....

Here is a web site that lists gas stations that do not have ethanol in the gas.
You can search by state.
