Saddlebag/Ghost bracket question 11 Months ago
Just bought a set of Road King custom leather covered hard bags and was wondering if I could use ghost brackets or would they not support them enough?I also have the brackets from my stock
hard bags. Are they hard to modify to fit the harley bags? Anyone have a better way to mount them? Thanks

i "had" ghost brackets when i first mounted the hd hardbags on my bike. in my experiance the brackets did not do well with them, they floped around when you hit bumps and rattled bad. when i took them off to put the baddad brackets on i seen after only 100-150mi that the ghost brackets started to bend pretty bad from the wieght of them and floping around. again just my experiance but i would not use them again.

I also bought some and decided not to use them. They really put the bags 3 to 3.5 inches away from the fender and flopped around.

Duck, take a look at this link. A friend of mine did the same with his roadstar...modified his OEM Brackets to use on RoadKing Bags.
