I got 54mpg one time. Easy riding on back roads with an average speed of around 45-50mph. Stock intake, stage 1 exhaust, PMS @ 3. Normally I average 46mpg while commuting to work or weekend runs.

Best I got is 46.5 running 70-80 mph highway heavy on the throttle and 2 up. Ported stock MF, 172.5 main, clip on 3 with two washers, 37.5 pilot, PMS 3 out, modified baffles. Ride in town most of the time to work and back.

I calculated 48 mpg on the way home from the mountains last month, and that was doing 130 kph (about 77 mph) most of the way. I'm confident I could hit 50 mpg no problem doing something near the legal limit of 110 kph. I have an '05 1700 that I've rejetted (Dynojet parts, my settings)& am running a Speedstar air filter assy, Roadhouse 2-1 classics and no fuel pump or emissions air pump crap.
Something else I have noticed though is that, while my service manual states a fuel capacity of 20 L total & 3.5 L reserve (meaning 16.5 L before reserve), I was unable to squeeze more than 16L of fuel into her even though I had been on reserve for 40-50 km's (30mi). Has anyone ever run it completely out of fuel on reserve & if so how far did you get ?

Hi Guys
I just did a 300 mile ride around Mt Rainer in Washington St
It was a great day and a great ride I may have hit 5th gear 10% of the ride
I was amazed to see that I got 54.5 mpg
I am running Barons BAK Barons Torque master Cobra Speedster pipes
170 main 3 turns out and needle I believe at 4th clip stock washer setup
one thing I also noticed was at about 1000 to 1200 ft elevation my bike seemed to run a little better
everything is running awesome for me now after alot ok tweaking
Take care everyone ,,,,Arcturus

BR, I've broke into the low 50's on long stretches with no stopping, and that was carrying a passenger. Did it about a month ago in fact. hit reserve today right on the 200 mile mark. filled her up, 45.85 MPG (or 46 if you're like me). That was a combo ride ,60% highway, 40% backroad. I never get lower than 40, tend to average about 42-45. And I've changed a bunch of stuff (which you already know). BB
