Ultimate seat 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Less than 200 miles on my Roadie and I realized early on the stock seat wasn't going to do it for me. After a couple of back surgeries I need waaaay more support, so after reading all your very helpful threads, I decided to bite the bullet and order an Ultimate from Des.

He was very helpful via email and we got it ordered once I paid through PayPal. Very nice to work with, just like everyone said. I ordered the passenger and back support (obviously) as well. My question is, does the seat take a while to conform to the ol' keester, or is it pretty comfy from the get-go (seems like I read it's pretty good from the start)?

Papatom:
I put on an Ultimate Seat setup on my 05 R* in June and haven't looked back. I too had back surgery and this seat has been the ticket for me. Ultimate recommends you let it soak in the sun for an hour, hop on it and drive for 100 miles to get it to conform to your rump. Worked for me, I love it and would highly recommend this seat to anyone; spendy but worth it. - Rod.

Two back operations here too and I put mine on and it made a world of differance. I ride to work everyday and have taken a couple long trips and it just get better and better. The wife loves hers too she doesn't want to stop near as much as she used to.

Thanks Rod. Letting it sit in the hot sun is no problem here in southwest Utah - hit 104 today. And there are plenty of places to take it 100 miles or more.

Y'know Curt, my wife isn't real thrilled about bikes, but she's willing to ride with me every now and again, and I want her to be as comfortable as she can be. I appreciate it.
