In the market to buy a new bike in the future. Eveybody seems to have Harleys and I am still riding my 2000 Roadstar. I need to hear Pros and Cons from all the Roadstar/Yamaha owners. This is a spoof right? Harley has made some big improvements, but imho still comes up short. All of your add ons and accessories will cost you a big bundle. I have ridden nothing but Yamaha since 1985 and have no complaints about any of them, with just one exception. The Yamaha dealers won't work on most bikes that are ten years old, unless the engine is currently being produced and used in other models. The Vmax and it's highway cruising cousin still get the attention of the dealers. The older bikes like the old XS, XJ, and FJ type vintage bikes are on their own. Harley on the other hand, well I can't tell you because I haven't had a Harely since 1973. But my guess is they do. You still have your Roadstar, and ride it on a regular basis I think you have answered your own question.

Thanks for all the advice. I never had my mind set on a Harley, as a matter of fact am wondering why many ride a Harley. I have always leaned toward non-harley as many of you have said, you pay a bunch for the sticker.
I am looking for realiability, comfort for long trips, especially for my passenger, and service. I live in Southern New Mexico and am a bagger because you can only cruise in this town of 25K so much before you get bored and feel the need to get out.
I looked at websites and compared against Harley and hands down I am leaning toward the Yamaha Venture. I am not looking to buy until a year or so, but value the opinions on here, even though some might sound a little "douchy". LOL
I rode a friends dynaglide the other day and I felt totally cramped. When I get another bike it will give me time to fix my R* up. I love my R* but want more comfort for the long trips.
Still searching but convinced the HD is likley not the way I will go.
Thanks All

Find a Yamaha Dealer that'll let you take a Road/stratoliner for a spin. You might not come back....... BB

Thanks and I appreciate your honesty. Too many people here in New Mexico think Harleys are the shit. I dont and think its only a status thing with them. Especially the ones that put the huge gorilla bars on their bikes....
Does anyone know how to take off the notifications when someone replies? I am getting bombarded by emails...
