Bogging problems 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Just to get some thoughts rolling I'd like to throw out the problem I'm having... For starters I'm a huge seafoam user and had no problems up until a few months ago. That being said, while on my way to ride the tail of the dragon, I was "getting into it" pretty good messing around with my buddy and as I went from 3rd to fourth at high rpm's it suddenly lost a lot of power and started bogging out quite bad. It's done this ever since. I've changed the spark plugs, sprayed carb spray, used an entire can of seafoam in the tank and ran it through. The bike idles perfectly and starts hesitating as soon as I touch the throttle. If I pull the throttle back all the way (of course in neutral) the bike will literally shut off. Once at speed and level ground it's find until a slight incline. So I assume it's lack of gas, I checked the fuel pump, it was pumping fuel but I still changed it out and the fuel filter. I rode it again yesterday to narrow the problem, while riding I pulled the choke out and it took someone of the bogging away. I'm not sure if this is svs or if my valves need adjusted since I do have 25,000 miles on it. I'm hoping for a quick fix

Does anyone think this is just the case of a dirty carb? I'm thinking about taking it out and soaking it over night. Any suggestions would be great and is there a rebuild kit I should buy first before I take the carb apart?

I'd start with checkin the float level as well as the needle and seat. Others will chime in.

Sounds like trash or water in the gas. Take the carb off chlean it with carb cleaners and blow all the holes out in reverse with canned air.

Try some Amsoil Quickshot . It seems like a different and legitimate product

It almost sounds like a hole in the diaphragm for the slide. Happened too suddenly... I know once when I was making adjusting the clip, I accidentally didn't seat the gasket for the diaphragm correctly (effectively causing an air leak) and got similar results until I reseated the gasket. Then all was well. Just a thought.
