Which exhaust? 6 Years, 5 Months ago
I am getting a very nice bonus this year and am going to upgrade the exhaust and air box on my 2004 Silverado.I put 15000 miles on her last year and am ready for better performance.I am thinking about the Kuryakin Twin velocity and the Vance and Hines long shots and am just wondering what you guys think is the best way to go.

"what you guys think is the best way to go"

Bottom line .... there is little difference between most of the various systems available and you should buy what looks and sounds best to you.

I like the looks of the TV but some have found that it sits further out from the engine than other air boxes.

The fit and finish of all the Longshots I have seen (not that many ) has been excellent. I have a set of Pro Pipes and the fit and finish is also good (minor problem with rear cone clamp). I find the Longshots too loud for my tastes.

Note that for bottom end performance, a two into one pipe (like the Pro Pipe) or a dual system with a crossover is generally better than two straight pipes exhaust system.

I added the Vance and Hines Powershots to my bike this past year and I've gotten a lot of favorable comments about the looks and sound. It has the crossover feature ("Power Chamber&quot that Doc's talking about and does seem to help the low end power. The sound is definitely a lot louder than the stock pipes! Recently added the BAK air box and I don't know whether it's my imagination or not but the exhaust note seems to be lower than before. I've been very pleased with both the exhaust and the air box. Hope this helps!

Go to the R* Riders Forum on Delphi. There are a number of riders with this setup.
