Looking for a real back seat 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I'm looking for a real back seat for the R*. Not just a sissy bar, but the wrap-around like on touring cycles. Nothing huge, but something bigger than a sissy bar to make those longer rides more comfortable for the back seat driver.

I'd say the only thing you could get would be like a trunk with built in wrap around back rest built in, you can find them pretty cheap on Ebay or other websites, depending on how much you want to spend and some of the trunks aren't that big anyway.

Wow, I really like that. It's exactly what I had in mind. How difficult is the trunk to install? Any modification required? I'm having trouble finding the one with gloss black that I see in your sig Boatmark, I can only find the wrap around backrest that clips onto the trunk. Those prices are insanely low too, that's hundreds upon hundreds lower than anything I've seen. How difficult was the install?

Found the trunk. That's insane, $99, plus $69 for the wrap around pad. That's cheaper than a sissy bar anywhere else I've seen them.

I have that one
You will be doing some stiffening up of the walls (ABS plastic rather than fiberglass)and lid, and tightening up around the latch to get it to seat correctly. I made a plate to go on top of my luggage rack to support the entire bottom of the trunk. Also, if your not putting it on right away, don't keep it in the house. Has an awful oder from the thermoforming but that goes away in a couple days. It's functional and OK but I will be replacing it with a more sturdy unit when funds allow.

You can add these to a larger sissy bar.

Can you tell me what you used to brace it up? Looks like a luggage rack, but I can't find a luggage rack that isn't part of a sissy bar.
