Spud I can't believe anyone would have two $700 shocks in the garage.

MINE however is installed. Easiest instal ever. I the past I cussed the guys here who said they did it without removing the rear tire. Well If the Clinic says it can be done and I did accomplish that feat when I installed my Progressive spring on my stock shock.

THIS time I told Schatzie to come out and be my helper and I thought two hours, some cussing and maybe finish it another day. Guess what?

I jacked the bike up and put stands under it. I took off the horn and used a universal on a 3/8 in drive to loosen the bolts. Took the bolts out, had Schatzie use a floor jack to raise the tire a bit and BOOM! The dam thing FELL OUT! Dog Bones and all! Unbelievable!

The old and the new beside.

The new shock is almost too pretty to install! What a work of art! That line and knob is the adjuster, it's an extra $200 option but now that I have it, I say yea! Spring for it! It installs very easily, looks like part of the bike and fits like a glove! I followed the instructions that came with it and it went in QUICK and EASY! Unbelievably easy! Add !!!!!!!

YOU CAN actually reach down and adjust it at a stop light, But have you kick stand down just in case. Adjusting it DOES make a difference.

There are three adjustments on this shock, The Spring just as the factory shock......... But they give you a special tool far easier to adjust without a jack. Maybe a pic later or find one on their site.

And they have a rebound adjustment that they also give you a special long Allen wrench to adjust one of 5 settings. I am on no 3 right now I think I will need 4.

I also will need a bit more pre load on the spring.

But Gigantic leap over the stock shock and progressive spring! Very cushy ride now and still holding it's own in turns. It has a Cadillac ride now! Before I was bracing for large bumps and tapping my passenger when I saw a good dip coming up. No more. And, I haven't even got it completely dialed in yet! It's installed as I got it!

The grass IS greener on the Progressive 465-5004 side. If you need one, and you have the duckies, spring for one.

I choose to need one because I have added a HD King Tour Pack, and a Reckless Fairing with a Stereo so, more weight (And weight capacity) meant more suspension for me. Just like I needed more tire!

So, I'm going to report, it's not a rip off. Just another gigantic improvement from Progressive! I was shy, but I am not sorry!

Can't wait to get it totally dialed in.

I have ridden on this over same roads to compare and Way way way better! Going to Tighten the Preload a bit and go to Number 4 on the rebound for what i am riding with. (Mostly two up and or loaded)

The joke's on you! I enjoy having my ass bounce on the ground every time I hit a bump.

Also, I found another place with 8 in stock. $678.85 each.

Mike,
Congrats on the new softer ride. I know what you mean with the expansion strips here in Jersey like small mountains!

I recently bottomed out on small sink holes in the shade. I could not see them and I thought I had the frame make contact. Turns out that the front fender rebounded up so high that it hit my Stebel and cracked off part of the horn and dinged my fender down low.

I bought a progressive two years ago since the original shock was shot.

To improve my ride this year I went out and bought a 2009 Stratoliner on Monday. It has 450 miles on it already.

Rides like my Buick Park Avenue -- very sweet ride.

Are these hydraulic shocks, or air ? I want to upgrade the suspension this winter but have reservations about the air units.

They are a Nitrogen filled shock that has adjustable rebound and a progressive spring. I had one before I went with my Tricky Air Ride.
