"Reserve" on an 08 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Anyone know approximately how many real-world miles we have on "reserve" on the 08+ (Fuel Injected models)? I've had the light come on before, but prior to the ride up north this past weekend, I'd never gone more than a couple of miles. I know when the light comes on, there's .90 gallons in the tank, so I'm guess about 30 miles depending on MPG?

Since reserve is about .90 gal and the gas guage and fuel light is not exact, I would hope to get about 35 to 40 miles before I run out. But that would probually be pushing it and I would not feel good going over about 30 miles. Just my thinking.

Personally, I try to never hit the light (in my cars, also). Too much crap in the bottom of the tanks...

I thought for certain they'd run low before me, but I had to ride up the line to the leader and tell him I needed to stop for gas. There was no way I thought I'd make it to the next exit. Heh. When we got to the station, 3 guys thanked me, and a few asked the leader if he was playing a game of "see who could run out first".

In any case, you know any sediment kicks up when you fill 'er up, right?

fuel pumps and pickups always draw from the bottom of the tank. its the stuff that floats on the fuel that gets sucked up when low on gas.

That's what fuel filters are for, right?

My light seems to come on a little early,I've run 30 miles with the light on and it only took 3.8 gallons to fill it up.
