Back cracked 10 Months, 1 Week ago
The back of my fender is cracked, and it's getting worse. Any idea of a repair option, or where to get a new one all together?

Another Yami design flaw. Fix = http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/79/94/ I welded mine and turned the subframe into a trailer hitch in the process.

About 2 years ago I noticed it, maybe 2". Checked it about a year ago, and looked to be the same size, but just checked the other day and it was huge. Anyone with the same paint that wants to get rid of theirs, I'd be happy to buy it off of you.

Here's a picture of it: http://i.imgur.com/B1kmV.jpg

Thanks for the link. It's not really visible normally, as it's mostly under the bags, and I'm in the process of getting a trunk so it'll be even less noticeable, but I don't want hte damned thing to break off completely.

I don't ride 2-up, but the cam on my front cylinder went out and I was running strange for a bit, caused excessive shaking in the rear. I think that's what started it. At 38k miles maybe it's to be expected.

Welcome to the club.

New Fender and then have a stainless steel wire rolled and brazed into the edge all the way from the top of the wheel well (or further) and then "glass it" behind the subframe. Then paint it.

It'll never crack again if you do those.

You could repair it, but it'd cost you more than a "used" but in good condition fender.

Why not let it crack the rest of the way and call it a bobber?
